Avian (Bird) Flu Update

The avian flu has been reported in our area with a nearby lake reporting 25+ dead Canadian geese. This adds more urgency and importance to our geese deterrent efforts this year. The geese are looking for nesting sites on unprotected shorelines and lawns. More information on what you can do to help reduce the goose population on our lake can be found in the Lake Management Committee Recap.

More information on the avian flu and how to handle dead birds can be found on the Lake County Health Department website at this link avian flu. Or view these helpful PDFs.

Welcome to Loch Lomond!

Loch Lomond is a subdivision between Route 45 and Midlothian Road in Mundelein, Illinois, managed by the Loch Lomond Property Owners Association. Our 600+ homeowners take pride in the neighborhood, maintaining the look and feel of a place we call home. Surrounded by large lots, gentle sloping lawns, and old oaks, our beautiful private lake and its beaches offers residents exceptional fishing, swimming, paddling, boating, and, most importantly, well-maintained places to spend time with neighbors and family.

Managing nuisance animals

Goose activity can contribute to poor water quality, causing beach closures and bacterial growth in our lake. Beavers can do damage to private property and common areas, resulting in downed trees, dammed inlets, and more. Help us protect our lake by deterring these animals from our shores; discourage geese from hanging out on your property, keep up your shoreline, and contact the LLPOA if you need help removing old watercraft, sunken piers, etc. that invite unwanted wildlife.
