Loch Lomond boasts two beautiful private beaches: North Beach and South Beach. North Beach is the perfect destination to spend some time near the water under the shade of large tree or to fish in the quiet waters of the bay. South Beach is a bright and expansive area for large get-togethers, games in the sand, swimming at your own risk, and fishing or launching your boat in designated areas.

Swimming
Swimming is encouraged within the marked swimming area off of South Beach. No swimming is permitted at North Beach.
Swimming rules:
- No running or horseplay on rafts or piers. No diving off piers. Playing under piers is not allowed. No swimming under rafts.
- No inflatable toys or inner tubes beyond the rafts. Non-swimmers may not utilize any flotation device to go beyond the pier.
- One person on diving board at a time.
Current Beach Hazard Flags
What do the flags mean?
Loch Lomond uses beach warning flags to signal whether it is safe to enter the water.
- Green flag—Low hazard
- Yellow flag—Medium hazard
- Red flag—High hazard
Our lake water is sampled twice per month during the swim season by the Lake County Health Department. The red flag will be displayed the day following .75 inch of rain, or if there was enough E .coli present in the water sample results to advise against swimming. A yellow flag will indicate that the water quality is borderline. And, a green flag means we are good to swim.
There are no lifeguards on duty during any flag conditions.
North Beach
North Beach is the perfect destination to spend some time near the water under the shade of a large tree or to fish in the quiet waters of the bay. Our native plants blooming throughout the growing season play critical roles as food sources for migratory birds, butterflies, and bees. They also give cover in winter and provide seeds for birds that stay all winter in our neighborhood. We also need native plants to buffer the inlets into our lake and to protect shorelines from erosion.
The native plants in our gardens have been nurtured along with the help of a few dedicated volunteers since an initial grant was obtained from Lake County Stormwater Management to plant a demonstration rain garden at the north beach. Another grant followed in 2013 to reinforce the inlet into the lake at the north beach, one of the major sources of flow into our lake. Our south beach has an established buffer strip with many native plants maintaining the shoreline.
Our monarch way-station is a butterfly magnet throughout the summer. Look for rose milkweed, orange butterfly weed, and purple wild bergamot to name a few.
Along our shoreline at both beaches are water lily and other native aquatic plantings. Look for Joe Pye Weed, rose mallows, and Queen of the Prairie at the water’s edge of the south beachOur demonstration rain garden gives neighbors some ideas for the low spots in their own yards. Canada Anemone, Golden Alexander, and Purple Coneflower have filled muddy spaces creating a bioswale buffer for runoff entering the lake.
Pooch Paddle
North Beach is a designated beach for well-mannered dogs in our community and their owners. Please share this space with our other little people and be respectful of this multi-use park. If you would like to meet other dog owners in the neighborhood, come out for Pooch Paddle on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday evening happy hour time. The beach is open for you and your family until 11:00 pm daily.

Beach Rules
A great deal of time and money is invested in the Association properties for our enjoyment. These rules are established to maintain safety, assure proper use of our lake facilities, and prevent vandalism and trespassing. Do your share by obeying and helping enforce these rules, giving your time to help us maintain the areas, and paying your fair share for the use of these properties and equipment. The rules apply year-round.
- Members are allowed a reasonable number of guests when using the beach. All parties at the beach TOTALING more than fifteen people must be approved through the Administrator. Forms are available on the Loch Lomond website.
- No organizational parties (i.e., sports team, church groups, company outings, etc.) are allowed due to insurance restrictions.
- Loch Lomond residents not LLPOA Members in good standing (fully paid accounts) are not allowed to be guests.
- Reasonable and proper conduct is expected at the beaches.
- No children under 12 years of age will be admitted unless accompanied by a parent, other responsible adult, or other family member over 12 years of age.
- Persons under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible person 16 years of age or older, unless a lifeguard is present.
- Beach areas are closed to children under 18 years of age after 9 PM unless accompanied by parents.
- Beach areas are closed to all use from 11 PM to 5 AM year round. Village police are authorized to arrest trespassers.
- Vehicles or boat trailers must not be parked on the beach area or in front of gates. Large gates are posted for emergency vehicle use.
- Absolutely no glass beverage containers are allowed in the swimming area, including sand, pier, and rafts.
- No alcoholic beverages will be allowed in the actual swimming area. This includes the swimming pier, rafts, and designated swimming area.
- Smoking Policy – Smoking at the South Beach is only allowed on the East end of the beach in between the dumpster fence and basketball court. No smoking is allowed in any other part of the beach. Please make sure all spent smoking materials are placed in a garbage container, all flames extinguished, and ashes cool. Use water if necessary.
- No open fires are allowed in the picnic areas. BBQ grills are provided. Members’ portable grills may also be used.
- No pets are allowed inside the fenced area at South beaches except leashed service animals on the far east side of the beach, on the grass only. Dogs are allowed at North beach anytime.
- No hard objects may be thrown, only soft balls or those appropriate and not harmful to others on the beach at the time. No stone throwing in the beach or creek areas.
- Admittance to beaches is through gates only. Climbing fences will be considered trespassing.
- Proper attire is required when swimming.
- Park bicycles in racks provided when possible.
- No water balloons or fireworks are allowed on LLPOA property at any time.
- AT NO TIME ARE FIREARMS PERMITTED ON LLPOA PROPERTY. 21. Inflatables (bounce houses, obstacle courses, etc.) are not permitted on LLPOA property.
