The LLPOA Annual Meeting is first and foremost a meeting of the association members, which includes all the property owners in our neighborhood. This is a forum in which to voice questions and concerns, propose changes, and vote on the next year’s Board of Directors members and other items. Resident engagement in our association is crucial to ensuring the health of our lake—we hope to see you there!

When and where?

The 2021 LLPOA Annual Meeting will be held on Monday, November 15 at the Mundelein Fire Department located at 1000 North Midlothian Road in Mundelein. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. on the lower level. An elevator is accessible. Please note that masks are required to enter the building.

Why should I participate?

This is an opportunity to hear about major projects, meet board candidates and other neighbors, and get involved with your association. Also, the meeting is held in conjunction with the November board meeting and offers residents an opportunity to vote in the 2022 board of directors as well as voice their comments, suggestions, and concerns. In order to hold the election, there must be a quorum of association members (residents), and every attendee and every proxy counts toward achieving that quorum. If a quorum is not achieved, the current board rolls over into the next year. The more resident participation there is, the better we can care for our most important resource: the lake.

Also new for the 2021 Annual Meeting is the opportunity to enter into a drawing for one of three $100 Visa gift cards. Fill out a form to help us get to know you better, and be present at the meeting for the chance to win!

How can I vote?

Each property can submit a vote to elect members to the LLPOA Board of Directors. You can do so in person by coming to the meeting and filling out a paper ballot, or you can vote by proxy. Voting by proxy means you expressly allow another resident to vote on your behalf. You can do this by giving your proxy form to a neighbor who is attending in person, or by assigning your form to the Secretary of the association and mailing it to her address or to the LLPOA P.O. box. Note that the person to whom you assign your proxy cannot vote one way on your behalf and then vote another way when casting their own ballot. You will want to ensure that the person to whom you assign your proxy will vote as you would.

How do I complete a proxy form?

Every household received a proxy form in the mail along with a copy of the meeting agenda and the proposed 2022 budget. You can also download a proxy form here. Put your name in the first line and the name of the person voting on your behalf in the next line, or leave this space blank to assign it to the Secretary. Please give your completed proxy to the proxy holder, or return it to the Secretary either in person (address: 1294 Dunleer Drive) or by mail addressed to LLPOA, P.O. Box 840, Mundelein, IL 60060, postmarked no later than midnight of November 1, 2021. If you will not attend the meeting in person, please do assign your proxy so your vote is counted!
